Description
The CAME BPT R/1 is a versatile auxiliary relay unit primarily used in intercom and door entry systems. It acts as an interface to bridge low-voltage signals from an indoor monitor or entry panel to higher-load devices, such as electric locks, gates, or other auxiliary equipment.
Core Functionality
The R/1 is designed to “multiply” or “strengthen” contacts. For example, if an indoor intercom monitor does not have the power capacity to trigger a heavy-duty electric gate lock directly, the R/1 relay is triggered by the monitor’s low-power signal, which in turn switches the higher-power circuit required to operate the lock.
Key Features
-
Two Clean Contacts: Provides two isolated, independent output channels (Double Pole, Double Throw).
-
Voltage Flexibility: Features an internal jumper switch that allows the unit to operate across a wide range of voltages, making it compatible with various BPT system configurations.
-
Visual Status: Equipped with an integrated LED that indicates when the relay is active.
-
Compact Design: Housed in a durable plastic casing that is typically DIN-rail mountable, making it ideal for installation in electrical cabinets or distribution boards.
Technical Specifications
| Feature | Specification |
| Supply Voltage | 8V – 28V DC or 8V – 24V AC |
| Relay Outputs | 2 Clean Contacts (Changeover: NO, C, NC) |
| Contact Rating | 2A @ 24V DC / 1A @ 120V AC |
| Dimensions | 40 x 60 x 25 mm (H x W x D) |
| Mounting | Module/PCB / DIN rail |
Common Applications
-
Lock Control: Triggering magnetic locks or electric strikes from an intercom handset.
-
Auxiliary Switching: Using an intercom “Aux” button to switch on driveway lighting or secondary gate operators.
-
Signal Multiplication: Splitting a single command signal to trigger multiple independent devices simultaneously.
⚠️ Installation Tip: The R/1 is a “dry contact” or “clean contact” relay, meaning it does not provide power to the device it is switching; it simply closes a circuit. Ensure that your power supply is correctly sized for the specific lock or device you are intending to drive.
